Innovative Build Aviator services, available from builders’ merchant Gibbs & Dandy, have been praised by a luxury house builder following a prestigious award win.
Fairfield Homes picked up the Single Unit Development of the Year title at the LABC Warranty Brick Awards, and commended the Build Aviator service for playing a significant part in their success.
The Build Aviator online services link the design phase of a project to the pricing and ordering of building materials, which makes the building project simpler, faster, cost-effective and compliant.
The services include SAP Assessments, Estimating Services, Air Tightness Testing, Acoustic Services and Registered Construction Details – LABC approved.
Build Aviator enabled Fairfield Homes to speed up the pre-build process and comply with regulations whilst minimising build costs, allowing Aspen House to be delivered to the very highest in specification with features such as a helical American Walnut centrepiece staircase with curved wall backdrop, dedicated wine room and bespoke orangery.
The luxury developer then sourced almost all the products for the Aspen House build through Gibbs & Dandy, combining the Build Aviator service with the merchants’ buying power to successfully deliver the award-winning project.
Neil Shepherd, Managing Director at Fairfield Homes, said: “We were thrilled to pick up the LABC Warranty Brick Award for our flagship luxury development, Aspen House and wanted to recognise Build Aviator and Gibbs & Dandy for their part in this success.
“The Build Aviator service guaranteed us SAP compliance early on in the project, and ensured we complied with all regulations and eased the overall process.
“It also enabled to save on build costs – for example enabling us to revert to a standard 302mm external wall construction rather than the 352mm we’d used on recent projects. Savings such as these across the build allowed us to re-dedicate budget into further enhancing the specification, a specification which has secured us this prestigious industry award.
“We are already working with Build Aviator and Gibbs & Dandy on our next build, and are proud to have worked together to deliver a project which has gained recognition on an industry-wide scale.” he added.
The Build Aviator SAP Assessment service uses an integrated product library with thousands of specified products, commercially validated and all in stock. It enables developers and architects to make early decisions on product specification, confident they will comply with SAP and building regulations.
Andrew Cushing, Sales Director at Gibbs & Dandy said: “We warmly congratulate Fairfield Homes on this significant award, and are pleased to have been involved in this exciting project.
“2013 building regulations have created added complexity for developers and architects, but this service can make everyone’s lives easier.”
Marcus Jefford Commercial Director at Build Aviator, added: “All we need are the preliminary design drawings to put through the SAP assessment tool, providing a detailed product design which then meets building regulations. Knowing these products are in-stock and available at competitive market rates is of huge value. It just saves everyone time and money.”
